Biographical Information:


Photo of Ambassador Ann Carbone Ann Carbone lives in Columbia, South Carolina, where she teaches algebra and pre-algebra at Crayton Middle School in Richland District I. She has served as past mathematics department head and presently serves as 7th grade team leader, head coach of the Mathcounts team, and assistant coach of the Lego Robotics team. Ann has been a regular presenter at conferences of the South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics and works closely with the University of South Carolina and Columbia College to help train pre-service teachers. She was chosen as Crayton's 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year. Ann's hobbies include reading, traveling, learning languages, music, riding roller coasters and spending time with her family. She was privileged to have attended the launch of the Juno spacecraft to Jupiter from Cape Canaveral, Florida, in August of 2011, and the launch of the Mars Science Laboratory and its rover Curiosity in November of 2011.
