Audrey Rager has always loved science. But she hasn't always been interested in space. After obtaining a B.S. in Anthropology, Audrey began working as a field biologist and spent several years studying desert tortoises. Her job involved protecting them from construction on the Nevada Test Site. In 1996, Audrey became interested in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing. She obtained an M.S. in Earth Sciences in 2002 doing research on the subject of making geologic maps from satellite and airborne data. She currently is working on her Ph.D. in Geology. Audrey's research focuses on comparative planetary resurfacing processing. She is studying patterns of impact craters, tectonics, and volcanism on Venus, Mars, Europa, and Io. Someday Audrey hopes to be a Principal Investigator on a lander mission to Europa. In the meantime, she wants to inspire young people to pursue careers in Space and Earth Sciences.
