 Betty
has been drawn to the space program since childhood.
She applied for the teacher in space program in the
80's and after the Challenger disaster started one of
the first Young Astronaut chapters to spread the excitement
of space to children. Betty has taken groups of children
and parents to Space Camp, presents workshops dealing
with space to schools, educators and museums. She has
taught every grade level from primary to graduate school
in her thirty years of teaching. Currently Betty teaches
the middle school and high school gifted program for
the DuBois Area School District. She teaches robotics,
laser technology, computer technology, and space.
