Brandon Beard is currently a Language arts and Science teacher at John Evans International Baccalaureate Middle school in Greeley Colorado. He has been teaching for seven years, and at this school for two. When Brandon first became a teacher, he and his wife taught in a small Yup'ik Eskimo fishing village in Alaska. What a great place to teach Astronomy! Especially due to the long dark hours of the winter. Brandon was awarded Teacher of the Year during his time in the village, as well as being adopted into the village due to his culturally relevant instruction. Following this experience, he taught for three years on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He has also been fortunate enough to teach in Nepal and Costa Rica. Within each of his unique teaching opportunities, he strove to bring his love of science, exploration and inventiveness to each and every one of his students. Brandon has a wonderful wife and son who love doing experiments with him.
