David Abbou has been an amateur astronomer for over 35 years. NASA's Apollo and Voyager missions opened a universe of interest for him in the 1970s and 1980s, and he continues to follow the space program with great enthusiasm. David conveys his passion for astronomy and the space program by conducting lectures and outreach events at schools and libraries in the Stafford, Virginia, area. He also writes a monthly astronomy column for The Free Lance-Star newspaper which serves the Fredericksburg, Virginia, area with a circulation of 50,000.
