When Chris Cox was in second grade, he knew he wanted to be an astronaut or an astronomer. His parents bought him a picture book on the planets to encourage his interest. A lot has changed since then: we have fewer planets, and the pictures are outstanding.
Instead of becoming an astronaut/astronomer, Chris earned his Ph.D. from Indiana University in nuclear physics -- a degree that only deepened his interest in the Universe. He currently teach physics and physical science at Montgomery College and Frederick Community College where he takes every opportunity to use astronomy examples to explain these subjects.
