Elaine
has been fascinated with space for many years and is
currently working as a space systems engineer (aerospace)
on a United States Government satellite project. When
she was a teenager, her brother Greg introduced her
to the Griffith Park Observatory in California and she
was star-struck. Dreaming about space travel and exploration
led her to a commission as an Reserve Army Signal Officer
specializing in electronic satellite communications,
space and computer science. For over a dozen years and
on a full time basis, Elaine has been an engineer working
on a variety of space projects for the US Government
such as remote sensing, reconnaissance, navigation and
communications spacecraft systems in Bosnia-Herzegovina,
the UK, Germany, Belgium and Italy. Having cheerfully
been called a "space-cadet" more than once,
in her spare time, Elaine likes to build models of manned
and unmanned space craft. Her greatest dream is to see
commercial, recreational space travel for the common
person in her lifetime. Elaine loves nothing more than
to learn and talk about all things space!
