Eric Muhs has been involved with Astronomy since he was seven years old, when his father would point out constellations with a flashlight on camping trips. A National Board Certified teacher of 23 years experience, he teaches popular Physics and Astronomy classes at Ballard High School. Working with students, Eric has placed experiments aboard a NASA high-altitude balloon, NASA's "Vomit Comet" zero-gravity airplane, and, most recently, the Space Shuttle Endeavour's last flight. He has also worked on the Fermi Gamma Ray Space Observatory, and traveled to the South Pole to help construct the IceCube Neutrino Telescope. Eric actually owns about 20 telescopes, which he shares with his students, and built an observatory with a dome in his back yard two years ago.
