Gustavo Ramirez is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Southern California in Geomicrobiology under the guidance of Katrina J. Edwards. He has a strong interest in the co-evolution of geological and biological processes. His long-term goal is to develop life detection methods with applications in interplanetary robotic missions searching for extant or extinct life elsewhere in the solar system.
