Jim Johnson was born in Imboden, Arkansas, raised in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and spent most of his life near Bradford, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Bradford Area High School and attended Temple University in Philadelphia, receiving his Bachelor's Degree in 1973. Jim later attended St. Bonaventure and received a Masters Degree in Education in 1976. He worked 35 years for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, retiring in 2004. Jim now is an Alternative Education Teacher teaching Social Studies. He has a son who is a high school Biology teacher in Chicago and a daughter who is a kindergarten teacher in Tampa. Jim's wife is a Law Assistant in their local community.
