Jim
Kukowski is a veteran of scores of NASA space missions ranging
from manned space flight, earth orbiting satellites and solar
system exploration flights. As a NASA public affairs officer
for 25 years at NASA Headquarters, Washington, D.C., and Goddard
Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD, he is knowledgeable in
a wide variety of space disciplines. While with NASA he was
a primary contact for the agency with both print media and
television. As senior public affairs officer for NASA's Office
of Space Science and Applications, Kukowski participated in
solar system exploration programs including those investigating
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, the asteroid belt, Jupiter, Saturn,
Uranus and Neptune. Kukowski established the NASA Broadcast
News Service and was instrumental in the development of NASA
TV. He was known as "The Voice of NASA" for over
20 years. He is presently a "mentor" for the Team
America Rocketry Challenge sponsored by the Aerospace Industries
Association and the National Association of Rocketry.
