James McDonald is an associate professor of science education at Central Michigan University and Director of the Central Michigan GEMS Education Center. He has been involved in space science programs with the STELLAR program at NASA Ames Research Center, the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, and now JPL. James does programs for local schools and university students on planetary missions and other NASA missions.
He has been at CMU since 2002 and is active in the National Science Teachers Association, Michigan Science Teachers Association, the Michigan Science Education Leadership Association, and the National Association for Research in Science Teaching.
Before coming to CMU James was an elementary and middle school teacher for 10 years.
