I
am currently a senior at UCLA, majoring in aerospace
engineering. I will be graduating in 2003, and hope
to attend graduate school soon after. My ultimate goal
is to attain a graduate degree in astronautical engineering.
Like
many kids, I wanted to be an astronaut at an early age.
My dream never wavered, and to this day I still have
the motivation of becoming an astronaut. I don't think
I'll ever be a pilot due to my poor vision, but I'm
hoping that I will be chosen as a mission specialist.
I realize that my goal will be difficult, however, due
to the large applicant pool, but I continually tell
myself how much I love space. Being involved with programs
like JPL's Solar Systems Ambassadors helps reassert
my love with space. That's why I am so thrilled to be
part of this program, since it gives me an opportunity
to become involved with all of NASA's wonderful discoveries.
Plus, I allow others to share in my enthusiasm, perhaps
inspiring others to become astronauts.
