As an inspiring research biologist and space enthusiast, Jenni desires to reach out to the next generation of space enthusiasts and share her knowledge of space with them. Jenni loves to see the spark in someone's eye as they discovered something new and they start thinking of the different possibilities. Jenni is originally from Florida, where she grew up watching all the space shuttle launches and following all the space events. She obtained her Associate in Arts degree at Lake-Sumter Community College, and Bachelor's of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Science with a minor in Biology at Florida Institute of Technology. In Fall 2012 she begins her Master's degree in Biology at Colorado State University- Pueblo. In May 2009 she attended the prestigious NASA/Space Florida Academy at Kennedy Space Center where the team launched a weather balloon 100,000 feet recording GPS and video camera data. In the summers of 2009, 2010 and 2011 she was a research intern at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda and Baltimore, Maryland. At the end of 2009 she was part of crew 85 at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) for 2 weeks. In Spring 2010 she will in the National Community College Aerospace Scholars program. During Spring and Summer 2012, she interned at the Space Life Science Lab at Kennedy Space Center. Additionally Jenni was recognized in 2008 as a National Young Woman of Distinction for Girl Scouts of the USA and remains an active Girl Scout volunteer. Jenni believes being involved in ones community is extremely important and frequently volunteers her time to many organizations, especially Girl Scouts.
