Jim Caffey graduated with a BS in Physics/Astronomy in 1997, and a M.A. in Teaching with 9-12 Earth Science emphasis in 2003 from Missouri State University. He worked as a NASA SpaceGrant Intern at the MSU Baker Observatory for 6 years, studying eclipsing binary stars. He was awarded an Undergradate Observing Visit to Kitt Peak in 1996 where he observed Comet Hyakutake. He attended San Diego State University for one year and was a TA/GA at the Mt Laguna Observatory. He Taught at MSU for 4 years, and now teaches at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, and College of the Ozarks, near Branson, MO, where he is an Adjunct Instructor/Professor of Astronomy, Physics, and Space Science. He also mentors 60 children who study aerospace. Jim Belongs to Sigma Xi, Sigma Pi Sigma, Planetary Society, & Astronomical Society of the Pacific. He researches the Solar System, eclipsing stars, and Astronomy Education.
