John
Haller, Jr. was born in La Jolla California on November
22nd 1975. He attended La Jolla Elementary and The Bishop's
School. John played lots of sports and finally as a
freshman in high school settled on Water Polo playing
all year round. He attended Princeton University where
he kept playing Water Polo all four years. Before graduating
from the Electrical Engineering Department with the
honor of being selected as for the Academic All Ivy
League, John completed an optional Senior Project where
a team of students took apart a Geo Metro, installed
motors and servos and a Silicon Graphics Workstation
and made the car "drive-by-wire". He then
enrolled at Stanford University where he has spent the
last seven years working on a multi-disciplinary thesis
based in the Electrical Engineering Department and obtaining
a minor in Physics. John has traveled to Antarctica
on a National Science Foundation grant and has begun
to race in triathlons.
