Biographical Information:

Photo of AmbassadorFor as long as John Purdy can remember, he has had a passion for space and science. Two significant events ignited this fire: watching Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walk on the moon from his grandparents' living room in Savannah, Georgia, and, getting hooked on "Cosmos" because his 97 year old neighbor, Frances, was fascinated by the series.

John also has a passion for using interactive media to improve learning and communications. His background and career have given him practical experience in these related areas: Education and Training, Interactive Media, and Learning Games.

Combining the above with what could easily be called his being a space "geek," John gets excited about sharing images, audio, video, animations and stories about space with people of all ages. He's particularly interested in getting children interested in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers - a dire need in our country - through modern interactive media and gaming technologies.
