Joseph M. Hilbe, Ph.D., is emeritus professor, University of Hawaii, and adjunct professor of statistics, Arizona State University. Hilbe is an elected Fellow of both the American Statistical Association and Royal Statistical Society, and an "elected member" of International Statistical Institute, of which he is Chair of the Sports Statistics Committee and Astrostatistics Interest Group. Hilbe has authored numerous journal articles and software, and four texts on statistical modeling, including highly regarded, "Negative Binomial Regression" (Cambridge University Press).
Hilbe has a lifelong interest in astronomy, and has continued to keep current with the newest theories in cosmology, astrophysics, and planetary science. He has a collection of over 100 meteorites, including several lunar and Martian stones. He enjoys giving related presentations to community and interest groups, schools, and academic gatherings.
Hilbe brings a wealth of varied experience to his lectures, and loves to share his enthusiasm and
knowledge of space and meteorites.
