Katherine Auld has taught Astronomy at Northwest Arkansas Community College for three years. Her fascination with space began in 1980 when her fourth-grade class watched a video of a Vostok rocket being refueled in the USSR. Katherine holds a B.S. and M.S. in Geology with her master’s thesis being a classification of depression types on Mars. She is currently finishing her Ph.D. with a dissertation studying the formation processes on the gullies on the martian surface.
Katherine is very involved in Boy Scouts leading a Venture Crew in Bella Vista and teaching many of the science based merit badges to local Boy Scouts. She has also given presentations on all manner of space science, chemistry, and physics to elementary to junior high classes, after school programs, and libraries in the surrounding communities.
