Kathy Beauford shed tears of joy and inspiration on the beach when Apollo leapt for the moon. She has served aerospace education as Louisiana's Director of External Aerospace Education for the Civil Air Patrol, and Director of The Space Flight Institute for The Louisiana Nature and Science Center. She was won 26 aerospace education awards and 7 teaching awards. Her favorite award was from the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society. She said, “I was thrilled to be recognized by scientists!” She has lectured on the local, state, and national level. She has served as a navigator for Air Search and Rescue for the US Air Force Auxiliary. Kathy's favorite saying is "America needs SPACE to GROW!"
