 An experienced researcher, scholar, and scientist; Dr. Steinhurst has extensive academic and professional preparation that includes the Doctor of Medicine, Master of Education, and Bachelor of Science degrees and diplomas from the U.S. Army Chemical School, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the International Space Academy. Internationally recognized for meritorious service, his awards include: the U.S. Meritorious Service Medal, the U.S. Army Commendation Medal, and the Pontifical Equestrian Order of St. Sylvester, Pope and Martyr. His memberships include: the United States Army Chemical Regiment, the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine, the Augustan Society, Beta Beta Beta Society, and the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
As a JPL Solar System Ambassador, Dr. Steinhurst seeks to share his interest and enthusiasm in space exploration and space science with others through ad hoc and scheduled educational activities, lectures, presentations, and symposia.
