Kimberly Small has been actively involved with both formal and informal astronomy education for many years. She studied physics and astrophysics at Ursinus College and Ball State University. During her two-year Masters Degree program at Ball State, Kimberly received a NASA Fellowship. This fellowship required her to assist the physics and astronomy department in their public outreach efforts. During this time she also helped to organize a new mentorship program, which focused on women in science. Since graduating with a MS degree in physics, and emphasis in astrophysics, Kimberly has worked at Upper Dublin School District, located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, as a physics teacher and planetarium director. These positions allow her to formally and informally educate school children in the areas of physics and astronomy. In the planetarium, she also works with local community groups and adults through a variety of programs offered through the township.
