Photo of Ambassador Laurie Averill Laurie Averill has her M.S. in Library Science and Certification as School Library Media Specialist. A more serious interest in astronomy was sparked 30 years ago by her future husband when they begin to date in college. She is certified to host the NASA Lunar Sample Disk and a member of the Astronomical Society of New Haven. Laurie participates as an amateur astronomer in its outreach programs as well as presenting lunar materials and solar observing at the libraries and school where she works.
