As a Lockheed Martin engineer Leroy (Lee) Bentzley had the good fortune to give several Space Day presentations. The Space Day Program encourages students to excel in Math and Science so they can be this country's next engineers and scientists. Lee would talk about exploring space and the fun of being an engineer. He got excited when the students got excited about space. Now retired, he has been providing talks in Space Science to middle school students as well as interested adults. In his engineering career Lee has worked for GE Aerospace, Martin Marietta, and Lockheed Martin on various projects including satellite and ground support systems. Notable programs to which he has contributed include GPS (Global Positioning System), ACES (Asian Cellular Satellite System), and the TDRS (Tracking and Data Relay Satellite) System ground station at White Sands, NM. Lee holds a B.S. in Physics and a M.S. in Computer Science.
