I
am a scientist working at Sandia National Labs. My interests
have always been in science and in many things related
to the understanding of the physical world. I have always
been interested in space especially since I grew up
just when the manned and unmanned space programs really
started. The marvels of the spacecraft constructed to
view and visit other bodies have always impressed me.
In addition, the wonderful science obtained has really
been amazing. It is quite incredible to comprehend,
just over the last twenty years or so, how many new
things we have learned about all the bodies in the solar
system. It is fascinating to see how different all these
bodies are. My role as an ambassador is to try to get
across to the public how truly amazing these scientific
results are and to get them to better understand the
riches we truly obtain from studying and trying to better
understand the planets and satellites. All people, not
only scientists, can appreciate these discoveries.
