Linda K, as she is known, has lived in North Carolina for over twelve years. She was a founding member of the Sandhills Astronomical Society, and is the founder and sponsor of the Western Harnett Astronomy Club at Western Harnett High School, which now has the distinction of being one of the largest clubs on campus. They sponsor school-wide events designed to excite students about space exploration. These include monthly trivia contests, poster contests, essay contests, an annual "Space Day Celebration" at the school, and more.
Linda's fascination with space began early. Her grandfather worked with the space program at Cape Canaveral, and her maternal grandparents lived so close to the Cape she was able to see launches from their yard.
Linda's interests include working with children and young adults, astronomy, history, and marine biology. She has created a website (www.4mrsk.com) encompassing these interests and more.
