He is a syndicated astronomy columnist in weekly newspapers in New York and Vermont. He is currently managing editor of a couple of newspapers in Vermont. Varricchio's public broadcast science programs have received critical praise. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in media communications and space studies and is the author of the space history book.
