Lowell Bailey has an AS degree from Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana, a BS degree from Ball State University in Muncie and an MS degree from Indiana University-Bloomington.
He is the Past President of the Indiana Earth Science Teacher Association and am now is the organization's historian.
From 2006-2008, Lowell served as District VIII Board of Director for the Hoosier Association of Science Teachers, Inc.
In 1998, he was a NewMast participant at Marshall Space Flight Center and has attended numerous other NASA sponsored workshops for educators.
Currently Lowell teaches at Bedford-North Lawrence High School teaching Earth Science, Astronomy, Meteorology, and Environmental Science in grades 10-12.
He is Director of the Morrow Observatory, located on the BNLHS campus, with public viewing the third Monday night of each month, weather permitting. During viewings, updates on NASA projects are given. Lowell participates in events sponsored by the Stonebelt Stargazers, of which he is a founding member.
