Matt
Oltersdorf has been interested in astronomy since age
10. He is active in various astronomy clubs, including
the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (ASP), The Planetary
Society, The Wilderness Center Astronomy Club (WCAC),
The Richland Astronomical Society (RAS), the Association
for Lunar and Planetary Observers - Solar section (ALPOSS),
and The Medina County Astronomical Society. He served
as the M-111 editor for Richland Astronomical Society
for two years and is currently President and Chairman
of the Medina County Astronomical Society.
Matt
helped launch the online magazine "GO Inside" as an
Associate Editor. He also served as Chairman of the
National Hackers Association. In addition to these hobbies,
Matt received a Microsoft MVP (Most Valued Professional)
award from Microsoft Corporation in 1997 and again in
1998 for services as a "Beta Tester" for such popular
Microsoft software as Windows 98, MS Publisher 98, MS
FrontPage, and Outlook Express.
As
a JPL Solar System Ambassador, Matt seeks to share his
interest and enthusiasm for astronomy and space exploration
with others through educational outreach programs.
