Maureen S. Jamrock recently completed a 39 year career as a middle school science teacher. Her undergraduate education was completed at Illinois State University. She received a BSEd degree in 1971. In 1975, she received an MSEd degree from Purdue University. Since that time, she has completed coursework at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition to her teaching career, Maureen has been an adult volunteer with her local Girl Scout council for 25 years. During that time, she has developed and presented programming for adults and girls, most of them, STEM-related. She currently serves on the Board of Directors and assists with program delivery at the Girl Scouts' Journey World program facility in Chicago, IL. In 2002, Maureen was selected to become part of a national facilitators group that was to be trained by NASA staff in order to deliver local programming. She participated in over 300 hours of training delivered at the Girl Scout National Training Facility, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Johnson Space Center, and Goddard Space Flight Center. She was recently named to a team of eight of the NASA facilitators to work on aligning the Girl Scout Journeys to NASA program materials.
