Michael Fischer renewed his interest in space and astronomy when his oldest son became interested and wanted to buy a department-store telescope. Instead of wasting money on a toy, together, they purchased an 8" Dobsonian telescope and began exploring the night sky together. Since that time, Mike has been very involved in local astronomy clubs and the local observatory leading night sky tours and talks on a variety of subject for young and old. Mike's particular passion is instilling an interest in science in young people showing them how our space program and research impacts many other areas of our lives. As an avid hiker and lover of the outdoors, Mike enjoys sharing the beauty of our Solar System and universe with others.
