 Nancy Atkinson has been interested in space exploration since she was eight years old, when Apollo 8 orbited the moon on Christmas Eve 1968.
Nancy is a librarian at the public library in Rochester, IL. Previously, she was involved in education, developing and teaching classes for the Science Museum of Minnesota and Quest Youth Enrichment and Learning in Springfield, IL. Her approach to teaching young people can best be summed up by a quote from Plutarch: "The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be lighted."
Nancy is also a free-lance journalist. She writes regularly for UniverseToday.com and has also been published by Space.com, NASA's Astrobiology Magazine, and several newspapers in the midwest.
