Nick Poppelreiter, a software engineer by trade, also has his sights high in the sky. At night he can often be found studying the stars with his telescope. Poppelreiter loves to prod the night skies for heavenly bodies, which usually go unseen with the naked eye. Whether at public star parties, like Yosemite's Glacier Point, or smaller, private star parties with a few friends, he is always eager to point out the sights of the night sky to others. In addition to his interest in amateur astronomy, Poppelreiter also enjoys videography, technical audio and video engineering at church, and bicycle riding. His wife is a piano teacher, and an avid theater fan. Both of his grown children are also engineers. His daughter works for NASA as an ISS flight controller.
