Patsy
received a BS degree from the University of North Carolina
at Greensboro in 1973 and completed course work for a teacher's
certificate at Catawba College in 1974. For seven years, she
taught 5th and 6th grade students. She spent the next 11 years
raising her two daughters who are now 23 and 20. In 1992,
she became a Science Specialist at Horizons Unlimited, a supplementary
education center, operated by the Rowan-Salisbury Schools.
For the past ten years, Patsy has been the director of the
Margaret C. Woodson Planetarium. Her duties include teaching
K-6th grade curriculum-based programs, planning community
events and serving as a space science resource.
