Paul
Stengel is a recently retired high school physics teacher
of 32 years who received a BA degree from Marist College
and MS degree from Yeshiva University. Throughout his
teaching career, Mr. Stengel has been fascinated with
space and has always endeavored to make it a theme in
his teaching curriculum: Space Shuttle Breakfasts, NASA
Telelecture Programs, Space Week activities, conference
calls with astronauts, participation in NASA Educator
Workshops and aerospace presentations to students, parents
and professional groups. Mr. Stengel was a NY State
Finalist in NASA's Teacher in Space Project and has
received educator achievement awards from local and
state professional organizations including SCSTA, STANYS
and AIAA. For the past 27 years Mr. Stengel has resided
in Southampton, NY with his wife, Marilyn, and their
three sons. As a Solar System Ambassador, Mr. Stengel
is eager to share NASA's latest efforts to explore the
solar system and to convey the excitement and anticipation
that accompanies humankind's reach into the cosmos.
