Philip has worked on several military Satellite projects as well as the Pioneer 11 and Viking projects at JPL. He worked as a team member on the Voyager Project in Telemetry and Command Operations. He was co-observer on the discovery of a new class of variable stars, and was co-founder of the "California Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics" (CalAstro).
