Rick Heschmeyer has been an amateur astronomer for over twenty years, having rekindled his childhood fascination with space and space exploration by observing Halley's Comet from the observatory at the University of Kansas in 1986. Since that time, he has shared his excitement for space exploration and astronomy with others in the same way it was shared with him as he observed Comet Halley through a telescope over two decades ago.
