Hi,
my name's Chuck. I'm an amateur astronomer, space science
enthusiast, musician, audio and video producer, writer,
reporter/anchor for a local TV station and Training
Manager for a World-Wide corporation. I combine my interests
by producing and presenting free multi-media space science
and rocketry presentations for schools, scouts, churches,
Astronomy and HAM Radio clubs, observatories, junior
colleges and universities. Over the years, I've visited
NASA installations, participated in countless press
conferences/events and interviewed key NASA personnel,
including Mars Program Manager Scott Hubbard and Astronauts
Jim Lovell, Buzz Aldrin and Norm Thaggard (via HAM Radio)
while Norm was living on MIR! I've been the featured
speaker at UC Berkeley's Lawrence Hall of Science, The
California Academy of Art & Science, The Chabot
Space Science Center and many other Space Science and
Rocketry events. I believe strongly in this nation's
space program and the international efforts towards
the further exploration of space. I regularly record
NASA missions, events and programs from NASA Television
and have an enormous collection of NASA mission and
Science Update videos. I even helped NASA solve a docking
problem with an ISS assembly mission -- in progress!
I host a weekly space science/aerospace/amateur satellite
Ham Radio network called "SpaceNet", carried
on the Stanislaus Amateur Radio Association's (SARA)
WD6EJF 2-meter repeater located on Mt. Oso, in central
California. We have more than 250 members and we meet
on-the-air each week to share the latest in space news
and have fun. Our members include aerospace and science
professionals but most of us are simply people with
an interest in space. My wife and children also enjoy
Astronomy and Space Science and fully support my many
related activities.
