For everyone, as I think, must see that astronomy compels the soul to look upwards and leads us from this world to another." Plato.
Back even further than that time, we knew, and I know not how or why, that we were citizens of the cosmos.
We are enabled by our knowledge and ennobled by our understanding. It is this precept which drives me to share the sky with others. Whether aside a telescope, or a planetarium projector, I am but a doorman, holding open the hatchway and inviting all inside. I've played this role in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul for over 20 years.
A technical support specialist by day, an astronomical zealot by night, I have been an astronomy educator at the Science Museum of Minnesota, the Minneapolis Planetarium, the Eisenhower Observatory, and am a member of the Minnesota Astronomical Society. My quest to explore the heavens has always included the desire to help others -- to open them to the wonders of the cosmos. I look forward to the opportunity to serve you as a resource on the planetary exploration of our celestial neighborhood. These are truly exciting times!
"We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started, and know the place for the first time." T.S. Eliot
Here, let me get that door for you...
