Seth Jarvis began his lifelong love of astronomy at the age of 12 when he built his first telescope. As a college student in 1978, he began working part-time as an usher in Salt Lake City's Hansen Planetarium. He joined the planetarium's full-time staff in 1980 as an outreach educator and advanced to eventually become the planetarium's director in 2001. During his first year as director he oversaw the design of a new and larger planetarium facility and supervised the transition out into the new Clark Planetarium for its grand opening in April of 2003. Seth is a frequent contributor to the planetarium's blogs.
