Shannon Rupert teaches Environmental Science at Northern New
Mexico College in Espanola, New Mexico. She is also completing her
Ph.D. in Biology at the University of New Mexico. An ecologist, she
has done Mars analog research in the desert southwest, the high
arctic and the Australian outback. Her current research is centered
on the acequias of Northern New Mexico, the Earthly equivalent of
those imagined canals on Mars.
