Steven Ainsworth is a registered professional engineer with a BS and MS in Physics. Since 1995 he has been involved in amateur high-power rocketry (HPR) and has built and flown rockets with on-board computers for data acquisition, sequencing, and control. He has followed space exploration since Sputnik, and read many books on the robotic exploration of space. He has made presentations to groups of Boy Scouts, HPR clubs, and developed hands-on demonstrations.
Steven has constructed a rover designed for HPR flight that utilizes a GPS and solid-state compass to travel to a preset location upon landing.
He is the author of two books for the HPR community published by ARA Press and has written over two dozen articles for HPR magazines including book reviews of space exploration related books. He has been given pre-publication copies of books for review.
Steven has read and collected a wide range of books and articles on the space program and space exploration that provides him with a comprehensive and broad base of knowledge on the exploration of space.
