Taylor Jernigan grew up the son of an Air Force pilot. When his father retired, they moved to the very space orientated Huntsville, Alabama. Taylor worked for the U.S. Space Camp/Academy in Huntsville, AL off and on for several years as he worked his way through college. He graduated from Auburn University where he had been a member and president of a chapter of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space. While at Space Camp/Academy Taylor worked as a Lead Counselor, Counselor Trainer, and Head Lecturer/Instructor. Among the topics he taught were Astronomy, Living in Space, Orbital Mechanics, Space History, Space Shuttle Systems, Space Suit Technology, Space Physiology, and led hundreds of tours for campers, trainees, and VIP's. Taylor also was an extra and technical advisor for the movie Space Camp. His wife, Mary-Aileen, and two sons, Camp and Eli, live in Montgomery, Alabama, where he works as a Realtor.
