Thomas
Mueller, like the planets of our solar system, has been
a "wanderer!" He was born in Wisconsin, grew
up in New Mexico, spent much of his adult life in France,
and is, for the moment, living in North Carolina. Throughout
these wanderings observing the night sky has always
been a passion. He has been teaching astronomy off and
on throughout his 20+ year teaching career. In addition,
he has made astronomical concepts accessible to the
general public from kindergartners to adults through
exhibitions and telescopic observations. Thomas is currently
Assistant Dean of Academics, Chair of the Department
of Science, and teacher of biology, ecology, and astronomy
at Saint Mary's School, a day and boarding high school
for girls in Raleigh. He lives at the school with his
wife and two sons.
