I
have taught geology at the college level in the regular
classroom as well as in distance learning at Kansas
State University. I earned a BS in earth sciences with
minors in biology,. chemistry and physics from Venezuela,
a MA in education/geology and an Educational Specialist
Degree in Life sciences and geology/education from the
University of Nebraska Lincoln. I have used remote sensing
and GIS in my teaching and outreach presentations. On
June 8, 2004 I was able to work with the Washburn University
planetarium and observe the Venus Transit. My interest
in Space was sparked early in life when I saw the moon
for the first time using a telescope. My interests in
space and planetary geology were also sparked by the
mentoring and support received from Drs. Thomas Spilker
and Linda Spilker from NASA/JPL, the two people I admire
the most in my life, and God of course.
