Biographical Information:


Photo of Ambassador Tim McCollum Tim McCollum is a veteran middle school science teacher of 35 years. He has participated in NASA Educator Launch Conferences in conjunction with the Galileo Jupiter Mission, the Hubble Space Telescope Mission, the maiden launch of Space Shuttle Endeavour, the launch of the Mars Exploration Rover - Opportunity, and the Mars Phoenix launch. He serves as an educational materials developer and workshop presenter for the IPY Polar Palooza National Museum Tour, and he recently completed an appointment to the National Science Board Commission on 21st Century Education in STEM. Tim is the project director for a Toyota TAPESTRY grant titled "Frosted Flakes: The Science of Snowflakes". He was the 2003 Illinois recipient of the Presidential Award of Excellence in Science Teaching and was recently selected as a member of the inaugural class of Golden Apple Central Illinois.
