Amateur Astronomer for over 40 years, I have had articles and observations published in various astronomical journals. In addition, I have worked with local community schools in Project ASTRO activities, bringing astronomy into our classrooms for 10 years.
I coordinated National Astronomy Day activities in Simi Valley for 3 years. In 1996 we won the national award for the best education program in the country, in 1997 we were runner up to the same award. I was the chairman of ASTROCON 2000, a conference that brought over 300 astronomers to Ventura County in July 2000.
As a member of the Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers since 1971, I have contributed astronomical observations to that organization. I am currently coordinator of the ALPO Youth Program and the ALPO training program, training astronomers in observing techniques. I am also on the advisory board for the Federation of Galaxy Explorers.
