Tom Hill was raised in Pennsylvania. He accepted a commission in the Air Force as he graduated from Penn State with an aerospace engineering degree, and served at assignments in Colorado, Turkey, and California while in Air Force Space Command. After separating from active duty (though continuing to serve in the reserves) he started working with America's weather satellites while continuing his hobby work in space as well. He lives in the DC Metro area with his family.
