Wilgus
comes to the Astronomical field with a degree in Astronomy
(B.S.) from The Ohio State University. He has been interested
in the Astronomical realm and space exploration since he was
in Elementary school (2nd grade). Wilgus has been a Teacher
in Texas (TX certified in Mathematics & Physics) and Planetarium
Director for The Science Place (1992-1997) and the Garland
ISD (1997 - present). He also has been a member of the Texas
Astronomical Society since 1981. Through the Texas Astronomical
Society he have aided in public observing sessions, both organizing
and participating. As a Teacher and Planetarium Director,
Wilgus has reached a large number of students, Teachers, and
families with timely information about the active field of
space exploration and the discoveries of that exploration.
His current memberships include: American Astronomical Society,
International Planetarium Society, Texas Astronomical Society,
Planetary Society, SouthWestern Association of Planetariums,
Rocky Mountain Planetarium Association, Great Lakes Planetarium
Association and the Amateur Radio Relay League.
