First image is a 60 second exposure of comet Hale-Bopp. Exposure started at 05:35:50 EST. A 12 inch Maksutov telescope, working at a focal ratio of f5 was used with an SBIG ST8 CCD camera with a red filter. The CCD was used in low resolution mode, with 3 by 3 binning, giving a resultant pixel size of 18 microns. The field of view is 0.3 degrees (long axis) by 0.2 degrees (short axis). The image has been processed using Mira. A 30 by 30 median filtered masked image was subtracted from 105% of the original. A false colour pallate was then added.

Second image is a 60 second exposure starting at 04:43:26. Taken with a 12 inch f5 telescope, through a blue filter.SBIG ST8 CCD Camera working in low resolution mode was used to take this picture. Third image is a false colour version of the 2nd image.

Fourth image is a tri colour image made by combining 2 30 second red images, 3 30 second green images and 6 30 second blue images, made between 05:00 and 06:00 EST. Images were taken using an SBIG ST8 CCD camera working in medium resolution mode.
